The children started off the school year in art class with a fun collaborative project in celebration of International Dot Day. International Dot Day is celebrated by children all over the world during the week of September 15th. It is all about encouraging kids to be self-confident in their artistic ability and inspiring them to think about how they can “make their mark” on the world. After reading and listening to the story, THE DOT, by Peter H. Reynolds, each grade used different media to decorate a dot in his or her own unique and creative way. The Early Childhood and even the Faculty and Staff have joined in the fun and created their dots to add to the wall! The beautiful dots are signed and proudly displayed in our school hallway! What a great way to START creating HERE at BYDS! #STARTcreatingHERE #internationaldotday
