Beth Yeshurun Day School

With the finest academics in both Judaic and general studies. Beth Yeshurun Day School combines Jewish tradition with innovation to create an extraordinary dual program. They believe that school doesn’t have to be boring; that if they challenge, excite, nurture, and engage the whole child, they can inspire a love of learning that will last a lifetime. BYDS’ NAEYC-accredited Early Childhood program starts with infants at 3 months old and functions as the primary foundational steps to learning. Teachers provide a loving, nurturing, and safe environment that promotes a thriving dynamic for children. Its ISAS-accredited Elementary School program is committed to helping children develop mastery and confidence in academic studies and social skills. The curriculum is boosted by BYDS’ new expansive outdoor education center, providing additional opportunities to lead, imagine, create, and shine. Children will understand problem-solving, self-exploration, decision making, number relationships, structures, complex vocabulary, healthy living, cause and effect, creativity, and imaginative thinking from playing and learning outside. On top of a continually enhanced academic program, BYDS recognizes the need and importance of being able to provide a rich Jewish life and an excellent private school education for all Jewish families in Houston. They believe every child deserves a strong Jewish foundation and BYDS is dedicated to making this possible. BYDS works diligently to create a safe, nurturing, and Middah-driven school. While at the core of lessons is academic excellence, BYDS is a kehillah – a community of children interacting on a daily basis. BYDS faculty seeks to foster the individual strengths of each child giving the students opportunities for leadership and partnership. Students are taught an awareness of their responsibility as a part of a community that supports each other. Students are prepared to advance in future educational endeavors with the confidence and skills to succeed.
