Committed to helping our children excel in academic studies and social skills.
We learn, pray and play together. We celebrate and support each other. We love and care about our children - because they are ours.
Our students develop a strong, positive Jewish identity, and it prepares them to live as committed, knowledgeable citizens of the world.
To this day, many of my closest friends are from my years at BYDS.
BYDS fosters a love of learning in a wide variety of both Jewish and secular areas.

A Play-based Early Learning Program
Founded in 1949 when Rabbi William Malev convinced the Congregation of the necessity to have a Day School.
In the elementary school, our classes have between 12-14 students.
BYDS is the oldest Jewish Day School in Texas, the first in Houston, and still one of the largest.
Our students forge social skills through cross-cultural collaboration.
