November 16 - November 20
Our students enter our doors every day to learn important lessons. At the very core of the lessons are our academic standards. At the same time, we are a school community – a small, but mighty village of children interacting on a daily basis. This also calls for an entirely different set of lessons – the lessons of life. We are proud of the BYDS Life Skills that our students learn which are just as important as math and reading. We focus on Respect, Cooperation, Gratitude, Integrity, and Responsibility. If you notice, our 5 Life Skills have a common thread – Kindness.
With this in mind, November 18th-22th will focus on Kindness, as we kick off our 4th Annual Kindness Week. We will be doing a variety of activities here at BYDS to engage students and staff throughout the week with the idea of kindness and the importance of showing it to others.
Our students will be immersed in an atmosphere of kindness through individual daily challenges, designated times for critical thinking and discussion, and even faculty to faculty acts of kindness.
