Thank you so much for your interest in Beth Yeshurun Day School. Know that as you embark upon this journey to begin your child’s formal education, we are here to guide you through the exciting, and often unfamiliar, process. We take pleasure in answering your multitude of questions, eliminating confusion and introducing you to others in our school community who may also be able to provide you with insight.
Established in 1948 as “The Foundation School”, Beth Yeshurun Day School was the very first, Jewish independent school in the Houston area. A strong “foundation” is precisely what we offer today; outstanding academics and a love of learning which fosters exploration of the arts and sciences, leadership skills and a view of Jewish living as integrated with American society. Community service and gemilut chasadim (acts of loving kindness) are interwoven into our daily lives.
We believe in the importance of remaining in two communities, literate in two languages and knowledgeable in two histories. Even our youngest students (15 months) who enter our early childhood program, benefit from our well-balanced, educational foundation for continuing intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual growth, where we nurture the gifts, talents, and strengths inherent in every child.
We are confident that our unique blend of small classes taught by teachers who sincerely care about the success of each and every child, and our outstanding, dual language curriculum will demonstrate that Beth Yeshurun Day School is the desirable educational choice for your child.
