Admissions

Thank you for your interest in Beth Yeshurun Day School!

The BYDS admissions process begins with a tour of our award-winning school campus including our extensive outdoor spaces. The applicant’s parents will visit our private day school, meeting with the head of school and principals while on campus. (Inquire)

The second step is for the student’s parents to submit an online application with the application fee and the child’s birth certificate. Report cards and teacher comments from all previous schools must be submitted when an applicant has attended school previously, including prior preschools. (Apply)

Once the application materials are received, the applicant will be scheduled for a classroom visitation day for pre-kindergarten and elementary school applicants. The educational diagnostician will perform an assessment during the applicant’s classroom visitation day. Early Childhood applicants to CDO, 2s, and 3s do not participate in a visitation day or evaluation but are invited to visit with their parents.

The admissions committee meets on a rolling basis and considers an application once the appropriate documentation, fees, and evaluation are received and assembled into a complete application file. Parents are notified as soon as possible of the final admissions decision, and the application process is considered complete when a school contract is signed.
