Welcome from the Head of School, Tom Elieff

BYDS is truly an exceptional community and place of learning. If you are a prospective parent, I encourage you to navigate and explore these pages to give you a true sampling of our outstanding curriculum, programs, and special experiences—all meant to help young Jewish children grow and learn with the confidence, skills, and character to succeed in schooling and in life far beyond the Fifth Grade year. If you are a current parent wanting to learn more about BYDS, my colleagues and I are eager to be of help to you and discuss any of your topics in greater depth and also to learn from you how we can take our website and our programs to the next level of excellence.

We certainly have a fantastic and dazzling place in which to teach and learn, but more importantly our extended family community is supportive in their commitment to the school. Just attend one of our special Judaic grade level programs, and you will sense the esprit with which we organize these programs, and you will notice the electricity among the students themselves as they perform, dance, sing, pray, act, and showcase their burgeoning talents.

We are confident that a BYDS Early Childhood and Elementary School education is among the highest quality school experiences anywhere; we know this because our alumni have been demonstrating extraordinary talent and leadership for generations—in their middle and high schools, top-tier universities, and beyond, and who are well established in so many prominent life paths, thanks to the foundation they acquired here at Beth Yeshurun Day School.
