A Message from Ms. Jennifer, BYDS Early Childhood Director

Over the last few days, I had the privilege of going into each Early Childhood class to read one of my favorite Rosh Hashanah stories, Apples and Honey by Jonny Zucker and Jan Cohen.  The children were so excited to hear the story, see the pictures, and share with me what a shofar sounds like.

Here are some key words from the story that we reviewed and learned together:

Apples (Tapuach/Tapuchim)

Honey (Dvash)

Shana Tovah (Good Year)

Metukah (Sweet)

Shana Tovah U’Metukah (A good and sweet year)

Pomegranate (and that we can eat the seeds inside)

I want to wish you and your families a Shana Tovah U’Metukah.  May you each have a good and sweet New Year filled with health, happiness, laughter, and love.
